CW began running high school cross country in the fall of his freshman. Over four years of highschool, running led him to the State and National Championships, earning him a scholarship to James Madison University. At JMU, CW was a Conference and East Coast cross country champion, while getting a degree in Exercise Physiology. CW conducted research at the Human Performance Lab at JMU, and is a co-author of the “Chocolate Milk Study,” published in 2010. After college, CW ran professionally for one year before moving into the multi sport arena, where he has been competing at the professional level for the last several years. CW has competed in hundreds of endurance sports events at all levels of competition, is passionate about fitness, and is dedicated to helping guests reach new goals in all disciplines of endurance sports!
What is your hometown?
I was born in Washington, DC, and grew up in the surrounding suburbs on the northern Virginia side.
How long have you been doing triathlons, running, or swimming?
I began swimming in elementary school in the early 90’s, I began running my freshman year of high school in 1999, and my first triathlon was in the summer of 2010.
If you were a t-shirt, what color would you be and why?
Navy blue; it is my favorite color by far!

What is your favorite pre-race meal?
Steak and caesar salad.
What do you do to recover from a hard workout?
Chocolate milk. It’s sort of my thing!
What is your favorite race?
The Pinehurst International Triathlon in Pinehurst, North Carolina. The most beautiful, and one of the most challenging, races that I have ever competed in.
